MARCUS D. FRUCHTER
Administrator
Administrator Marcus D. Fruchter was appointed Administrator of the Illinois Gaming Board in May 2019, after holding a variety of legal and policy positions in government, private practice and the non-profit sector. Administrator Fruchter leads the state regulatory and law enforcement agency responsible for ensuring the integrity and safety of licensed Illinois casino gambling, video gaming and sports wagering operations. Administrator Fruchter previously served as a senior counsel in the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Enforcement Division, where he was a member of the Cyber Unit and the Market Abuse Unit. He investigated and brought enforcement actions involving insider trading, market manipulation, account intrusions, and initial coin offerings. For more than a decade prior to his service at the SEC, Administrator Fruchter was a litigation associate and partner at a prominent Chicago law firm. He represented clients nationwide in complex business matters involving, among other things, commercial fraud, unfair competition, government investigations, intellectual property disputes, and breach of contract claims. Before law school, Administrator Fruchter worked as a senior policy advisor at Feeding America and served as a legislative aide in the United States Senate. He is a graduate of the University of Chicago Law School, Michigan State University and St. John's Northwestern Military Academy.
